Need the requirements in full? Planning guide
01Where are the event venues located?
Across two Los Angeles campuses: Chalon Campus in Brentwood, West Los Angeles — minutes from Beverly Hills and the Getty Center — and Doheny Campus at historic Chester Place in Downtown Los Angeles, near Crypto.com Arena and LA Live.
02Is event insurance required?
Yes. A Certificate of Insurance and an endorsement letter naming Mount Saint Mary’s University as additional insured are required and cannot be waived. The certificate is due no less than 60 business days before the event.
03How do I purchase event insurance?
If you do not already have coverage, you can buy it online through TULIP, the University’s referred program at tulip.ajgrms.com — select California, then Mount Saint Mary’s University as the institution. If you have your own policy, the University must be named as additional insured and an endorsement letter must be included.
04Can I host a wedding at Mount Saint Mary’s?
Yes — wedding ceremonies and receptions. A ceremony in one of our chapels needs the Chaplain’s permission and must be a Catholic ceremony.
05Can an outside caterer be used?
Yes. Bon Appetit is the preferred caterer and holds right of first refusal. Outside caterers are permitted with a service fee and commercial general liability insurance.
06Can alcohol be served?
Yes, when served by a licensed vendor. Seven business days’ advance notice and liquor liability insurance are required. Self-service is not permitted.
07Is there a facility usage fee?
Yes. External renters pay a facility usage fee in advance, plus labor and equipment costs.
08Who determines event security needs?
Campus Security determines whether additional officers are required. The renter covers those costs.
09Are candles or open flames permitted?
No. Open flames and candles are not permitted on either campus.
